    Schedule / Job Type

    Contract | Rotating Shifts (2 weeks days / 2 weeks nights, varying based on staffing needs) | Onsite | Every other weekend required | Holiday rotation included

    Key Responsibilities
    • Provide direct patient care on a 22-bed Cardiac Stepdown unit with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4–6, managing diagnoses including bradycardia, A-fib, SVT, CHF, CAD, NSTEMI, PVD, PE, CVA/TIA, and post-operative cardiac and thoracic patients
    • Manage epicardial pacing and chest tubes as core unit competencies
    • Titrate drips per ordered parameters, including Cardizem, amiodarone, procainamide, dopamine, dobutamine, heparin, and insulin
    • Care for post-operative patients including TAVR and post-op day 1 CABG patients transitioning from the ICU, as well as post-operative VATS, lobectomy, and wedge resection patients
    • Collaborate with on-site hospitalists, intensivists, nursing supervisors (available 24/7), and respiratory therapy (available hospital-wide 24/7)
    • Float to other units as needed; participate in self-scheduling through the unit scheduling committee
    Required Qualifications
    • Active, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license (any licensing actions must be disclosed at time of submission)
    • Current BLS and ACLS certifications
    • Demonstrated experience with epicardial pacing and chest tube management
    • Ability to titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips per ordered parameters
    • Experience caring for cardiac and post-operative thoracic patient populations
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • Familiarity with Nihon Kohden telemetry monitoring systems
    • Prior experience in a cardiac stepdown, progressive care, or cardiovascular surgical unit
    • Comfort working in a self-scheduling environment and adapting to rotating shift structures
