Travel Nurse RN - Cardiac Stepdown in Seattle, WA

Key Responsibilities Provide direct patient care for cardiac PCU patients including myocardial infarction, primary arrhythmias, pre/post open-heart surgery, vascular surgery, coronary artery disease, heart failure, pre/post cath lab, and stroke patients with cardiac involvement. Minimum 2 years of experience; must include surgical telemetry, open heart surgery, vascular (groin/radial band management), and IV skills with at least 2–3 years of telemetry experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care for cardiac PCU patients including myocardial infarction, primary arrhythmias, pre/post open-heart surgery, vascular surgery, coronary artery disease, heart failure, pre/post cath lab, and stroke patients with cardiac involvement
• Perform telemetry and dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Manage chest tubes, sternal precautions, CPAP/BiPap, trach care, and breathing treatments
• Administer blood and blood products; perform or assist with cardioversion, defibrillation, and epicardial pacer management
• Support specialized structural heart patients including LVAD and open heart post-op (24–28 hours); VAD and TAVR experience a plus
• Float to like units as required; every other weekend required

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license; compact license must be in hand at time of submission
• Minimum 2 years of experience; must include surgical telemetry, open heart surgery, vascular (groin/radial band management), and IV skills with at least 2–3 years of telemetry experience
• ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Epic EMR experience is a hard-stop requirement
• This unit does not accept first-time travelers
• Must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible as a travel candidate

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with VAD and TAVR support
• Experience with LVAD management and structural heart programs
• Familiarity with epicardial pacer management and post-operative open heart care
