    Registered Nurse – Cardiac Stepdown / Telemetry

    Schedule / Job Type

    Contract | 12 Weeks | Days | 3x12-Hour Shifts (08:00–20:30) | Every Other Weekend Required

    Key Responsibilities
    • Provide direct patient care on a 28-bed Cardiac Stepdown/Telemetry unit serving adult and geriatric populations
    • Manage patients with diagnoses including CHF, MI, pre/post cardiac catheterization, TAVR, CVA, COPD, diabetes, and respiratory failure
    • Maintain nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:4, up to 1:5 with lower acuity patients
    • Document and manage patient care using EPIC EMR
    • Float within specialty and to like or lower acuity units as needed; travelers are first to float
    • Work holidays as scheduled and participate in every-other-weekend rotation
    Required Qualifications
    • Active Maryland RN license or Compact RN license required at time of submission
    • BLS certification (AHA only) required
    • ACLS certification (AHA only) required
    • NIH Stroke Scale certification required
    • CPI certification required — The Calm Every Storm online version is the only acceptable online vendor
    • Minimum 2 years of Cardiac Stepdown/Telemetry RN experience required; first-time travelers are not accepted
    • Must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible (permanent address must be 50+ miles from facility)
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • Prior experience with EPIC EMR in a cardiac or telemetry setting
    • Familiarity with TAVR, cardiac catheterization, and stroke patient populations
    • Previous travel nursing experience within a health system environment
