Key Responsibilities
Provide direct patient care on a combined MS/Telemetry unit serving adult and geriatric populations with an average daily census of 30 patients across 30 beds
Manage higher-acuity patients presenting with complex diagnoses including CHF, ECOPD, NSTEMI, new-onset AFib, arrhythmias, sepsis, and renal failure/AKI
Monitor and interpret cardiac telemetry, responding appropriately to rhythm changes and clinical deterioration
Float within specialty as needed; travelers are expected to float first
Participate in holiday scheduling as shifts fall per unit schedule
Maintain active compliance with all required certifications including RN MD State License, BLS (AHA), CPI, and NIH Stroke Scale
Required Qualifications
Minimum 2 years of RN experience; strong CPU and PCU experience required
Active Maryland RN license or active Compact license at time of submission
BLS certification – American Heart Association only
CPI certification required – The Calm Every Storm online version is the only acceptable online vendor
NIH Stroke Scale certification required
Must reside 50 or more miles from the facility (permanent address) to be eligible
Preferred Experience / Skills
ACLS certification (American Heart Association only) preferred
Prior travel nursing experience, particularly in CPU or PCU settings
Familiarity with managing high-acuity cardiac and medical-surgical patient populations
