Cardiac Stepdown Registered Nurse (RN) – Travel Contract in Cleveland, Ohio

This on-site travel nursing opportunity offers rotating day and night shifts, a collaborative clinical environment, and specialized cardiac patient care in one of the Midwest’s leading healthcare communities.

Travel Nurse Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,250–$2,370
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks

• End Date: February 12, 2027
• Schedule: Approximately 36 hours per week; three 12-hour shifts
• Shift Duration: 12-hour rotating shifts
• Shift Options: Days, 7:00 a.m.–7:30 p.m.; nights, 7:00 p.m.–7:30 a.m.
• Scheduling Note: Shift assignments may rotate according to operational needs. Travelers should be prepared to work at least every other holiday.
• Setting: On-site cardiac and cardiothoracic stepdown care, with potential floating to related units or the emergency department to care for a similar patient population

Cardiac Stepdown RN Job Requirements

• At least 1 year of recent permanent experience in cardiac stepdown or a closely related specialty
• Permanent Ohio RN license or compact RN license in hand at the time of submission
• Active BLS certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Active ACLS and NIHSS certifications in hand at the time of submission
• One professional reference from a manager, assistant nurse manager, supervisor, or director within the specialty, completed within the past 12 months
• Successful completion of ECG rhythm recognition and medication safety assessments during orientation; up to two attempts are permitted for each assessment
• Current COVID-19 and influenza vaccination, with medical or religious exemptions considered
• Strong cardiac assessment, telemetry interpretation, clinical judgment, and care coordination skills

Travel Registered Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to cardiac and cardiothoracic stepdown patients
• Monitor telemetry, recognize rhythm changes, and promptly escalate clinical concerns
• Perform focused and head-to-toe assessments, identify changes in condition, and implement appropriate interventions
• Administer medications and therapies safely while following established clinical protocols
• Care for patients during postoperative recovery and manage complex medical and surgical needs
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, therapists, and other members of the interdisciplinary care team
• Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans, recovery, medications, and discharge needs
• Maintain accurate documentation and support safe transitions of care
• Float to related care areas when needed while maintaining safe, patient-centered practice
