Travel Nursing Job Details
- Position: Travel Registered Nurse (RN) – Cardiac Stepdown
- Location: Cleveland, Ohio
- Assignment Type: 13-week travel nursing contract
- Start Date: November 13, 2026
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,250–$2,370
- Schedule: Three 12-hour shifts per week; rotating days and nights
- Shift Times: Day shift approximately 7:00 a.m.–7:30 p.m.; night shift approximately 7:00 p.m.–7:30 a.m.
- Hours: 36 hours per week
- Orientation: 16 hours
- Weekend and Holiday Coverage: Travelers are expected to work at least every other holiday; schedule may rotate based on operational needs
- Floating: May float to comparable cardiac, thoracic, stepdown, or emergency care areas to support patients with similar clinical needs
Cardiac Stepdown RN Job Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Ohio or an active compact-state license in hand at the time of submission
- At least 1 year of combined permanent experience in cardiac stepdown nursing or a closely related specialty
- Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications from an approved provider, active and in hand at submission
- Demonstrated competency in cardiac rhythm recognition and the care of patients with complex cardiac or thoracic conditions
- Ability to successfully complete ECG rhythm recognition and medication safety assessments during orientation
- One recent professional reference from a manager, assistant nurse manager, supervisor, or director within the specialty, completed within the past 12 months
- Strong communication, clinical judgment, teamwork, and adaptability in a fast-paced hospital environment
Travel RN Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in a cardiac and thoracic stepdown setting
- Monitor cardiac rhythms, vital signs, laboratory values, and changes in patient condition
- Recognize and promptly escalate clinical deterioration or significant rhythm changes
- Administer medications and treatments safely in accordance with established protocols
- Care for patients recovering from cardiac, thoracic, and other complex surgical procedures
- Collaborate with providers, rehabilitation staff, case management, and other members of the interdisciplinary healthcare team
- Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans, medications, recovery, and discharge needs
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation and support safe transitions of care
- Adapt to rotating shifts and float assignments while maintaining high standards of patient-centered care
