Travel Nurse Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,020–$2,130
- Location: Baltimore, Maryland
- Healthcare Setting: Pediatric stepdown and rehabilitation unit
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Start Date: October 26, 2026
- Nursing Schedule: 3 shifts per week, 36 hours per week
- Shift Duration: 12-hour rotating day and night shifts, approximately 7:00 a.m.–7:30 p.m. or 7:00 p.m.–7:30 a.m.
- Patient Population: Pediatric and adolescent patients
- Patient Ratio: Approximately 1:4 on days, nights, and weekends
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- Call: Not required
- Floating: May be required within the RN's scope of practice and to other departments as needed
Pediatric RN Job Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of recent RN experience in pediatric stepdown, pediatric rehabilitation, pediatric medical-surgical, or a comparable healthcare setting
- Active Maryland RN license or eligible Compact RN license at the time of submission
- Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association
- Current CPI certification
- Experience with tracheostomy care and management
- Experience with ventilator management, including respiratory or cardiac patients
- Proficiency with pediatric medication administration, feeding support, IV starts and maintenance, central or implanted line care, suctioning, oxygen delivery systems, and NG tube management
- Ability to care for patients with complex neurological, orthopedic, respiratory, cardiac, and developmental conditions
- Comfort working rotating day and night shifts, weekends, holidays as scheduled, and floating when needed
Pediatric Travel RN Responsibilities
- Deliver safe, compassionate nursing care to pediatric and adolescent patients in a mixed stepdown and rehabilitation environment
- Monitor and manage patients with traumatic brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, burns, wounds, feeding disorders, failure to thrive, spina bifida, cerebral palsy, and post-orthopedic surgical needs
- Provide tracheostomy, ventilator, respiratory, cardiac, and oxygen therapy support within scope of practice
- Perform comprehensive nursing assessments, recognize changes in patient condition, and escalate concerns appropriately
- Administer medications, manage enteral feedings, maintain IV and central line access, and provide wound and skin care
- Collaborate with physical, occupational, and speech therapy, respiratory services, providers, families, and other members of the interdisciplinary care team
- Document patient care accurately using the unit's electronic medical record system
- Promote infection prevention, isolation precautions, patient safety, and family-centered care
