Job Details

• Position: Registered Nurse – Cardiac Stepdown
• Employment Type: Travel RN / Travel Nurse Assignment
• Schedule: 12-hour night shifts
• Hours: 36 hours per week
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,950 - $2,060
• Location: Dayton, Ohio 45409
• Shift Coverage: Every other weekend and every other holiday required
• Float Expectation: Floating may be required based on census and unit needs

Job Requirements

• Active RN license or compact RN license
• Minimum 1.5 years of recent stepdown, progressive care unit (PCU), or cardiac telemetry experience
• Documented experience with 1:5 patient ratios
• Epic EMR experience required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Ability to read and interpret cardiac rhythms and pass an online EKG tele competency assessment before start
• Ventilator experience required
• Strong clinical background in telemetry, dysrhythmia management, and complex respiratory care
• Comfort working with adult and geriatric patients in a high-acuity hospital setting
• Available to work every other weekend and holiday as scheduled

Responsibilities

• Provide skilled nursing care for stepdown patients with complex cardiac and pulmonary conditions
• Monitor telemetry, assess for rhythm changes, and respond quickly to clinical changes
• Care for patients with COPD, CHF, pneumonia, sepsis, post-COVID needs, and other acute medical conditions
• Support patients requiring trach care, BiPAP, high-flow oxygen, and ventilator management
• Administer and manage cardiac drips, heparin, and insulin infusions per protocol
• Collaborate closely with respiratory therapy and the interdisciplinary care team
• Deliver safe, compassionate care while maintaining accurate documentation in Epic
• Participate in a teamwork-focused care model and assist with floating as needed
• Promote patient safety, comfort, and positive outcomes throughout each shift
