Travel RN Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,910–$2,010
• Location: Thomasville, Georgia
• Healthcare Setting: 24-bed cardiac stepdown and cardiovascular progressive care unit

• Assignment Length: 13 weeks, with possible extension
• Shift: Night shifts, 7:00 p.m.–7:00 a.m.
• Schedule: Three 12-hour shifts per week; every other weekend and holiday coverage may be required

Cardiac Stepdown Registered Nurse Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the applicable assignment state
• At least 3 years of recent cardiac stepdown, progressive care, or cardiovascular nursing experience
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• Proficiency with cardiac telemetry, dysrhythmia interpretation, and continuous cardiac monitoring
• Experience starting and maintaining peripheral IVs, managing central lines and PICC lines, and caring for chest tubes
• Competency with cardiac drips, heparin protocols, post-cardiac catheterization care, and TR Band management
• Ability to manage oxygen therapy, non-invasive airway support, BiPAP/CPAP, and high-flow nasal cannula
• Strong patient assessment, communication, prioritization, and critical-thinking skills
• Previous travel nursing experience preferred
• Willingness to wear royal blue scrubs

Cardiac Stepdown RN Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care for adult and geriatric cardiac stepdown and progressive care patients
• Monitor telemetry and recognize changes in cardiac rhythms, vital signs, and patient condition
• Administer medications and manage ordered cardiac, vasoactive, insulin, and heparin therapies according to policy
• Perform focused and comprehensive nursing assessments, develop individualized care plans, and evaluate patient outcomes
• Deliver pre- and post-procedure care for cardiac catheterization and angiography patients
• Manage central lines, PICC lines, peripheral IVs, chest tubes, feeding tubes, wound care, and tracheostomy care as indicated
• Support patients requiring oxygen therapy, BiPAP/CPAP, high-flow nasal cannula, and other non-invasive airway interventions
• Collaborate with respiratory therapy, pharmacy, radiology, physical therapy, IV services, rapid response teams, and other members of the interdisciplinary care team
• Respond promptly to changes in patient status and participate in rapid response or code team activities when needed
• Maintain accurate documentation in Cerner while promoting patient safety, patient education, and continuity of care
