• Patient Population: Adult and geriatric patients
• Unit Profile: 20-bed cardiac stepdown unit with an average daily census of approximately 20 patients
• Additional Expectations: Floating to comparable units within scope may be required; local candidates within 75 miles are not eligible

Cardiac Stepdown RN Requirements

• Active Oklahoma or Compact Registered Nurse license in hand at the time of submission
• At least 1 year of relevant Registered Nurse experience
• Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications
• Cardiac stepdown, progressive-care, or interventional cardiology experience preferred
• Experience caring for adult and geriatric patients in a cardiac or high-acuity setting
• Ability to work 12-hour day shifts, including weekends
• Willingness to float to comparable units as needed

Cardiac Stepdown Travel Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care for adult and geriatric patients in a cardiac stepdown and progressive-care environment
• Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms, identify dysrhythmias, and initiate appropriate interventions
• Manage medication titration and administer blood products according to established protocols
• Obtain and interpret 12-lead EKGs and ECGs
• Provide pre- and post-procedure care for cardiac catheterization and other cardiovascular interventions
• Perform or assist with arterial sheath removal and related patient monitoring
• Monitor patients receiving procedural and moderate sedation
• Utilize and monitor Swan-Ganz catheter data as appropriate
• Manage PICC lines and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support safe, effective patient care
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately while supporting quality and patient safety standards
