    Job Title

    Registered Nurse (RN) – Cardiac Observation Unit (COU)

    Location

    Tucson, AZ | Acute Care

    Schedule / Job Type

    Contract (13 Weeks) | Travel | Days | 3 x 12-hour shifts (shift start times vary: 6:00 AM, 7:00 AM, or 8:00 AM) | On-call rotation required, approximately once every four to six weeks, including Saturday (7:00 AM–5:00 PM) and Sunday (7:00 AM–2:00 PM)

    Key Responsibilities
    • Admit and prepare patients for cardiac catheterization procedures, including pre-procedure charting, IV placement, and access site preparation
    • Prepare patients for bedside procedures including Cardioversions (CV) and Transesophageal Echocardiograms (TEE); sedate, circulate, and document these procedures
    • Recover post-procedure patients who received conscious sedation following cardiac catheterization
    • Evaluate assigned patients and plan, implement, and document individualized nursing care
    • Administer medications and perform patient assessments within the registered nurse scope of practice
    • Discharge patients, including patient education, documentation, and physical discharge coordination
    Required Qualifications
    • Active RN license in Arizona or a compact state license
    • Current ACLS certification
    • Current BLS certification
    • Minimum of 2 years of relevant RN experience
    • Experience in one or more of the following areas may be considered on a case-by-case basis: PACU, ICU, Telemetry, Cath Lab, or Surgery Center
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • Prior experience in a Cardiac Observation Unit or EP Lab setting
    • Familiarity with high-acuity, high-risk cardiac patient populations
    • Experience with TEE and cardioversion procedures
