Schedule / Job Type
Contract | Days | Four 10-hour shifts per week, with varying start times (5:30 AM, 6:30 AM, or 7:30 AM). Clinicians are expected to be available for on-call coverage, including approximately one call shift per week and one call weekend every 3–4 weeks, with a 30-minute response time requirement.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer and monitor conscious sedation during cardiac and vascular procedures in a sterile environment
- Circulate and assist with a wide range of procedures including left and right heart catheterizations, PCIs, temporary and permanent pacemaker placements, ICDs, EP procedures, TEEs, cardioversions, venous ablations, and peripheral vascular angiograms
- Operate and utilize department equipment including Pyxis, Epic, XIM (Philips monitoring system), Xcelera, ultrasounds, Angiojets, EKOS machines, and Acist contrast injection systems
- Maintain a 1:1 nurse-to-patient ratio across an active department averaging approximately 30 patients per day across 8 fluoroscopy rooms and 2 procedural rooms
- Badge in and out at the facility for all shifts; wear facility-provided ceil blue scrubs
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license in South Dakota or a compact state license with applicable multistate privileges
- Active AHA BLS certification required
- Active ACLS certification required
- Minimum 2 years of cath lab experience
- Must live within 80 miles of the facility to be eligible for local placement
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Graduation from an NLN or AACN accredited nursing program strongly preferred
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred
- Familiarity with Epic electronic health records and Philips monitoring systems
- Prior experience with EP procedures, TEEs, or peripheral vascular angiograms
