Schedule / Job Type
Contract | Days | Monday–Friday, 9-hour shifts with one rotating day off per week; rotating weekday, weekend, and holiday call coverage required (call includes any hours outside of standard day shift hours, including 24-hour call shifts on Saturday and Sunday)
Key Responsibilities
- Provide skilled nursing care across a multi-suite cardiac cath lab environment supporting coronary, neuro IR, electrophysiology, interventional radiology, and prep & recovery areas
- Assist with and support procedures including STEMI/PCI, diagnostic coronary angiography, structural heart procedures, electrophysiology studies, ablations, device implants, synchronized cardioversions, TEEs, acute stroke/thrombectomy, peripheral vascular interventions, biopsies, and drain placements
- Manage pre- and post-procedural patient recovery and monitoring
- Collaborate with Cath Lab Technologists who scrub and monitor cases, under the supervision of an on-shift Manager or Charge Nurse
- Participate in rotating call coverage including weeknights, weekends, and holidays as required
- Float within the cath lab department only (Coronary, Neuro IR, Electrophysiology, Interventional Radiology, and Prep & Recovery)
Required Qualifications
- Active Illinois RN license (or confirmation that the application process has been initiated)
- Minimum 2 years of recent Cardiac Cath Lab RN experience required
- STEMI experience required
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
- Must be able to pass a drug screen; facility maintains a drug-free campus policy
- Must live more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible at the standard rate
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Interventional Radiology (IR) experience preferred
- Neuro IR experience preferred
- Familiarity with Epic, Change Healthcare (formerly McKesson), and Lifepak 20
