Travel Nurse RN - Cardiac Catheterization Lab in Rochester, NY

Assist with a broad range of EP procedures including PFA and RF ablations, cryo ablations, device implants (pacemakers, ICDs, leadless PPM, loop recorders), LAAC (Watchman/Amulet), and HRE using mapping systems such as Biosense Webster Carto, Abbott EnSite X, Boston Scientific Opal, and Medtronic Affera. Review patient medical history, medications, allergies, laboratory results, IV access, and procedural orders prior to entering the procedure room; identify patient-specific risks and coordinate care with the Electrophysiologist, Anesthesia, APPs, and interdisciplinary team members.

Contract | Full-Time | Primarily Days with some evenings, holidays, and on-call per unit needs | Expected 3 x 12-hour shifts per week

Key Responsibilities

• Function as the primary nurse or circulator during EP procedures, including patient assessment, medication administration, moderate sedation, and clinical documentation in Epic before, during, and immediately following each case
• Review patient medical history, medications, allergies, laboratory results, IV access, and procedural orders prior to entering the procedure room; identify patient-specific risks and coordinate care with the Electrophysiologist, Anesthesia, APPs, and interdisciplinary team members
• Maintain ongoing patient assessment and communicate changes in patient condition to the procedural team; work closely with Anesthesia during anesthetized procedures and provide backup pacing support during cardiac implant procedures as required
• Perform circulator duties including obtaining and opening sterile supplies, pulling equipment, assisting with room setup and turnover, and ensuring necessary equipment and fluids are available throughout the case
• Support timely room starts and turnover; coordinate with the Charge Nurse and third-party vendors to ensure all team members and equipment are available for scheduled procedures

Required Qualifications

• Active New York State (NY) Registered Nurse license — NY license required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience
• BLS certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) only
• Proficiency in moderate sedation
• Proficiency with Epic for procedural documentation

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Cardiac implant or structural heart scrub experience
• Familiarity with EP mapping systems (Biosense Webster Carto, Abbott EnSite X, Boston Scientific Opal, Medtronic Affera)
• Prior experience in an Electrophysiology or Cardiac Cath Lab setting
