    Job Title

    Registered Nurse – Cardiac Cath Lab

    Contract | Days | 4x10-hour shifts, 7:30 AM – 6:00 PM | On-call required

    Key Responsibilities
    • Perform and assist with advanced cardiac cath lab procedures including LHC, RHC, PCI, PTCA, stent placement, atherectomy, temp pacer, Impella, IABP, TAVR, Watchman, and Mitraclip
    • Provide scrub support utilizing sterile technique in a high-acuity interventional and diagnostic cath lab environment using fluoroscopy
    • Monitor and interpret EKG rhythms, manage hemodynamic monitoring, and execute rapid response protocols
    • Care for adult patients across 6 procedure rooms with a daily census of 15–20, addressing diagnoses such as coronary artery disease, valve disorders, heart failure, and ASD/PFO closures
    • Operate and manage advanced equipment including IABP, Impella, Penumbra, Rotapro, CSI, Shockwave, laser, OCT, and IVUS
    • Adhere to on-call requirements: 7 on-call shifts and 5 late shifts per 6-week period, including one full weekend of call (Fri–Sun), with a 30-minute return-to-hospital requirement when called
    Required Qualifications
    • Active RN license (Virginia license in hand or pending accepted; Virginia offers emergency authorization for travelers while permanent license is processing)
    • ACLS and BLS certifications required
    • Minimum prior travel nursing experience required — first-time travelers are not accepted
    • Proficiency with Epic EMR required
    • Must be available to work or take call for at least one holiday per 13-week contract (in rotation with staff)
    • Must reside more than 100 miles from the facility (as measured from address on Driver's License) to be eligible; local candidates are not accepted
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • Experience with advanced structural and interventional procedures such as TAVR, left atrial appendage closures, Cardiomems, thrombectomy, mitral clips, and renal denervation
    • Familiarity with research protocols in a cardiac cath lab setting
    • Strong knowledge of isolation precautions, equipment handling, and supply management
    • Experience in a high-volume, Magnet-designated or accredited cardiac cath lab environment
