Registered Nurse – Cardiac Cath Lab

Schedule / Job Type
Contract | Day Shift | On call one night per week and one weekend per month
Key Responsibilities
- Utilize the nursing process and critical thinking in collaboration with interdisciplinary team members to assess, plan, intervene, and evaluate patient care
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing techniques, policies, standards of care, and applicable state laws
- Develop, initiate, and execute individualized patient plans of care as prescribed by the physician and/or hospital policy, including patient and family education
- Ensure accurate and comprehensive documentation in accordance with established standards of care
- Participate in department performance improvement activities, shared governance, peer review, and peer feedback opportunities
- Utilize critical thinking to manage complex patient safety situations, delegate appropriately, and escalate to the chain of command as needed
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program — education verification required
- Minimum 3 years of RN experience, including at least 1 year of critical care experience
- Cardiovascular intervention experience required
- Current Wisconsin or Compact RN licensure required
- Current BLS certification required
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required
- Must successfully pass an EKG competency test
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience in a cardiac catheterization or electrophysiology lab setting
- Familiarity with evidence-based practice guideline development or revision
- Experience engaging in shared governance and professional nursing continuum activities
