Registered Nurse (RN) – Cardiac Cath Lab

Contract | Days | Onsite | Staff expected to be available for emergency procedures during off hours, weekends, and holidays
Key Responsibilities
- Position and immobilize patients on the examining table following specified protocols
- Perform continuous assessment of patient hemodynamics and interpret EKG and hemodynamic pressure tracings
- Perform conscious sedation and mix and maintain IV/IC infusions and bolus medications
- Alert the physician to changes in patient responses during procedures
- Assist physicians with interventional procedures including STEMI and STEMI call coverage
- Provide Phase I patient recovery following procedures
Required Qualifications
- Current, active New York State RN license (must be uploaded with profile; facility will not pend license or certifications)
- ACLS and BLS certifications required (must be current and uploaded with profile)
- Minimum 2 years of current Cardiac Cath Lab experience
- 2+ years of experience in cardiac diagnostic and interventional procedures
- Cath and peripheral experience; STEMI and STEMI call experience required
- Conscious sedation and IV experience required
- Travelers with a permanent address in the following New York counties are not eligible for this assignment: Albany, Columbia, Dutchess, Fulton, Greene, Montgomery, Rensselaer, Saratoga, Schenectady, Ulster, Warren, or Washington
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Moderate Sedation Certification highly preferred
- Electrophysiology (EP) experience highly preferred
- Experience with or exposure to Epic EMR is a plus, as the facility is transitioning to Epic
