Key Responsibilities
- Provides routine and complex nursing care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients in the Cardiac Cath Lab setting
- Administers medications and treatments per appropriate protocol; monitors for side effects and effectiveness of prescribed treatments
- Addresses complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families in accordance with scope of practice
- Documents patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided accurately and thoroughly
- Assesses learning needs and provides education to patients, family members, and/or caregivers; identifies issues and available resources
- Makes appropriate assignments and delegates to other care providers as needed to manage clinical situations effectively
Required Qualifications
- Active RN License in the state of New Mexico or a compact state license
- BLS certification required (American Heart Association only)
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in Cardiac Cath Lab or related nursing specialty
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
- Experience in EP (Electrophysiology) procedures in addition to Cath Lab
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex, contingency-driven clinical situations independently
