Description

Job Title: Cath Lab Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Cardiac Cath Lab Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 4/10-hour shifts Hours per Shift: 6:30 AM - 5:00 PM (Monday - Friday) Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience required License: WA License or Compact License required Certifications: BLS & ACLS required Must-Have: Experience in circulating and monitoring cases; experience with structural heart cases preferred Description: The Cath Lab consists of 2 suites. The average number of cases per day is approximately 8-10. Required certifications include BLS and ACLS. Common diagnoses and types of patients include STEMI and Structural Heart cases such as Mitraclip, TAVR, and PFO. Job duties involve circulating and monitoring cases and procedural sedation. Scrubbing is preferred but not required, as scrub roles are primarily covered by technicians. Experience in circulating and monitoring, as well as travel experience, is highly preferred but not mandatory. MacLab experience is also preferred. Familiarity with the EMR system Epic is required. Cardiologists are available during scheduled hours and for on-call. The manager on duty will be the Cath Lab manager or daily charge nurse, who may also be a Cath Lab technician. Technicians will primarily scrub cases. Travel RNs and Techs should be flexible to work Monday through Friday. Weeknight call includes being on call approximately once a week. Weekend call consists of being on call for approximately 1-2 weekends per 6-week schedule. Call response time is 30 minutes. Floating outside the Cath Lab is currently not required unless previously arranged. Client-provided scrubs will be available daily. The unit/department-specific orientation will last one week, which includes three days on the unit and a weekend buddy call. The hospital may cancel up to four shifts per 13-week assignment. Charting is performed using the EPIC system. A BSN is not required for submission. Trauma Level is 3. The care setting is acute.
