Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Catheterization Laboratory Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day 4x10-Hour Hours per Shift: 10 Experience: 2 years preferred License: Valid compact state license required Certifications: ACLS, BCLS, NIH Must-Have: IR experience is a plus. Call shifts can average 10 shifts within a 6-week period, which includes one weekend of call. The number of call shifts may vary based on the number of nurses within the call cycle. RTO must be included at the time of submission. References covering 1 year within the last 3 years are required. Description: This position requires a registered nurse with experience in a catheterization laboratory. Candidates should have a minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, preferably in a similar setting. All applicants must be licensed to practice nursing in the relevant state. ACLS, BCLS, and NIH certifications are mandatory for this role. The registered nurse will be responsible for providing care to adult and geriatric patient populations. Daily census will include scheduled cases, with the potential for up to 9 cases per day. The unit utilizes Epic for charting and has a variety of interdisciplinary support services available. The nurse will participate in various procedures, including left heart catheterizations and coronary angiograms. Expertise in medications such as nitroglycerin, epinephrine, and thrombolytics is preferred. The role requires the ability to monitor patients undergoing procedural sedation and various cardiac procedures. Candidates should be prepared for a rotating call schedule with a 30-minute response time. Travelers may float to nearby facilities as needed. Inflexibility beyond the contracted schedule may result in termination of the assignment. Working three of the five major holidays is expected.
