Description:
Registered Nurse specialized in the Cath Lab.
Average daily census of 4 procedures per lab.
Visits per day totaling 16.
Patient ratio is 1:4 during the day and 1:3 at night.
Weekend requirements are not applicable.
First-time candidates accepted.
On-call requirements include weekends.
Regular floating may be required between departments and units as needed.
Minimum 2 years of charge experience preferred.
Charting experience is necessary with proficiency in Epic.
Required skills include diagnostic cardiac catheterization and interventional procedures.
Candidates should have experience with cardiac stent placement and diagnostic catheterizations for adults.
Knowledge of IABP placement/removal and Impella insertion is required.
Experience with interventional catheterizations and left heart catheterization is critical.
Candidates should be skilled in percutaneous coronary interventions (PCI).
Familiarity with pharmacological stress testing and pulmonary artery line/Swan Ganz monitoring is important.
Right heart catheterization and rotablator atherectomy experience is necessary.
Applicants should have knowledge of transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) and the Watchman procedure.
Experience with pacemaker insertion and angioplasty is essential.
Candidates must be comfortable administering antiarrhythmics and antihypertensives.
Experience with emergency medications and IV vasopressors is required.
Knowledge of procedural sedation administration and monitoring is necessary.
Candidates should be skilled in the use of reversal agents and thrombolytics.
Experience assisting with central line insertion and management is preferred.
Applicants should have knowledge of blood product administration and care/maintenance of implanted ports.
Experience with IV infusion pumps and PICC line care and maintenance is necessary.
Candidates should have the ability to start and maintain IVs.
Familiarity with activated clotting time (ACT) monitoring is required.
Candidates must be able to circulate procedures and monitor end-tidal CO2.
Knowledge of infection prevention strategies and interpretation/management of dysrhythmias is essential.
Applicants should be familiar with isolation precautions and personal protective equipment (PPE).
Experience with laser-assisted procedures is required.
Candidates should be competent in obtaining 12 lead EKG/ECG.
Knowledge of the Richmond Agitation-Sedation Scale is necessary.
Experience with sheath removal and monitoring is preferred.
Familiarity with vascular closure systems is required.
Candidates must be knowledgeable in ventilator management.
