Job Title: Cath Lab Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Cath Lab Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 8 hours (07:30 - 16:00) Experience: 5 years License: Active RN License required Certifications: ACLS, BLS Must-Have: Previous Charge Experience required Description: The Cath Lab Registered Nurse will work 5 days a week, Monday to Friday, during the day shift. The role includes call duty for nights and weekends, approximately one night a week and one weekend every four weeks. A 30-minute call back time is required for this position. Candidates must have a minimum of 5 years of experience in the Cath Lab. First-time travelers are acceptable if they meet the experience requirements. Local candidates are welcomed at the same rate. Basic life support and advanced cardiac life support certifications are mandatory. The nurse will provide care in a fast-paced environment, managing patient diagnoses such as STEMI, unstable angina, and valvular disease. The role involves assisting with diagnostic procedures including left and right heart catheterizations and interventional procedures like PCI. Experience with antiarrhythmics, antihypertensives, external compression devices, and procedural sedation is essential. The nurse will also be responsible for monitoring and managing patient conditions before, during, and after procedures. Additional duties may include operating various cardiac devices and administering medications as necessary. Team collaboration with interdisciplinary support services will be required. This position demands strong critical thinking skills and the ability to respond effectively in emergency situations. Candidates should have experience with community hospital charting systems.
