Must-Have:
Candidates must have experience circulating and monitoring cases in a cardiac cath lab setting.
Candidates should be able to perform patient care for cardiac, peripheral, neuro, and traumatic embolization cases.
All staff must be cross-trained to monitor cases.
Candidates should be able to scrub cases with RCIS and RT technicians.
Description:
The unit operates with 4 cath labs, primarily running 3 rooms at one time.
The average number of cases per day ranges from 5 to 15.
Electrophysiology cases are performed, including ICDs, pacemakers, and ablations.
The unit does not perform special procedures or interventional radiology but does handle peripheral and neuro cases.
The nursing team consists of a circulating RN, scrub tech, and monitoring staff for each case.
The position includes a call requirement of approximately 10-11 days per month, including one weekend per month.
Candidates should be able to independently manage cases by the end of their orientation week.
New hires may be scheduled for call towards the end of their first week.
Candidates should be comfortable in a college town environment.
The unit expects an experienced travel nurse to adapt quickly to the workflow.
