The role involves coordinating and implementing patient care specific to the age and needs of the patient population served. Key Responsibilities of the Registered Nurse - Cardiac Cath Lab- Obtain and record initial assessments, establishing priorities based on patient age, symptoms, and needs.
- Re-assess patients systematically to identify progress and trends for intervention.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans within established time frames.
- Make comprehensive nursing decisions based on patient outcome evaluations.
- Participate in patient and family health education and discharge planning.
- Implement and document timely interventions tailored to patient needs.
- Evaluate care plans and perform various Point of Care testing procedures.
- Utilize effective communication strategies for intended outcomes.
- Delegate assignments appropriately to ensure completion of required patient care support activities.
- Coordinate team assignments and adapt based on patient and unit needs.
- Participate in orientation of new staff and students.
- Promote a positive work environment with professional and supportive attitudes.
- Exhibit behaviors and actions that foster high patient/customer satisfaction and respect.
- Assist with special projects as assigned and maintain positive attendance.
Requirements of the Registered Nurse - Cardiac Cath Lab- Graduate of an accredited program for Registered Nursing.
- Current New Mexico RN license or current Compact state license.
- BLS and ACLS Certification via AHA required.
- Knowledge and skills appropriate to the patient population served.
- Excellent communication skills appropriate to the age of the patient.
