Registered Nurse (RN) - Cardiac Cath Lab

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse to join our Cardiac Cath Lab team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in cardiac care and demonstrate the ability to provide high-quality patient care during complex procedures.

Shift Information

The position involves 4-10 hour varying shifts, including start times of 0530, 0630, and 0730. The RN will be included in the mandate list to address any vacant call shifts as needed.

General Responsibilities

• Administer and monitor conscious sedation during various procedures.
• Circulate in a sterile environment while ensuring patient safety and comfort.
• Assist in procedures such as left and right heart catheterizations, PCIs, temporary and permanent pacemakers, ICDs, EP procedures, TEEs, cardioversions, venous ablations, and peripheral vascular angiograms.

• Pyxis medication system
• XIM (Philips monitoring system)
• Epic electronic health record
• Xcelera
• Ultrasounds, Angiojets, EKOS machines, Acist contrast injection system

Qualifications

• Active RN license in the applicable State Nursing Board or multistate licensure privileges.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a cardiac cath lab setting.
• Graduation from an NLN or AACN accredited nursing program is strongly preferred; acceptable candidates may hold a degree from an approved nursing program.
• Active certifications in ACLS and BLS are required.
• Ability to respond promptly to on-call duties with a 30-minute response time. The position requires 1-2 on-call duties per week, including one call weekend every 3-4 weeks.

Work Environment

The unit consists of 8 fluoroscopy rooms and 2 procedural rooms, managing an average of 30 patients per day. The nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:1, ensuring focused and attentive patient care.

Orientation and Training

Orientation will last 4-6 shifts, tailored to the individual's experience and covering essential topics such as electronic charting and physician equipment preferences.

Scrubs

Scrubs in Ceil Blue will be provided to all nursing staff.
