Cath Lab Registered Nurse (RN) – Travel Nursing Contract in Hyannis, Massachusetts

  • On-Call Requirement: Rotating nights, weekends, and holidays; must be able to arrive on-site within 30 minutes

Cardiac Catheterization Lab RN Requirements

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
  • At least 1 year of relevant registered nursing experience; cardiac catheterization, acute cardiac care, or stepdown nursing experience is strongly desired
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
  • Completion of an intra-aortic balloon pump (IABP) course
  • Demonstrated proficiency with intravenous medication administration and cardiac telemetry monitoring
  • Ability to monitor and manage patients following cardiac interventions, including percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI), ablation, pacemaker or ICD insertion, and transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR)
  • Ability to manage vasoactive medications and provide comprehensive post-procedure cardiac care
  • Successful completion of required pharmacology and basic arrhythmia examinations before the start date
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Willingness to participate in rotating on-call coverage for off-shifts, weekends, and holidays
  • Preferred: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), CCRN or CRN certification, and recent cardiovascular interventional nursing experience

Travel Cath Lab RN Responsibilities

  • Deliver comprehensive registered nursing care using the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation process.
  • Assess patients’ physical, psychological, and social needs and develop individualized plans of care.
  • Monitor patient responses to medications, cardiac interventions, and therapies, including vasoactive medications.
  • Provide post-procedure care for patients following PCI, ablation, pacemaker or ICD placement, TAVR, and related cardiac procedures.
  • Perform accurate clinical documentation and communicate pertinent patient information to providers and interdisciplinary care partners.
  • Recognize and respond to cardiac rhythm changes through continuous telemetry monitoring.
  • Safely administer intravenous medications and support patients requiring advanced cardiac monitoring.
  • Maintain readiness for on-call coverage and respond promptly to urgent cardiac care needs.
  • Use required radiation safety equipment, including a lead apron, while supporting cardiac catheterization procedures.
  • Promote patient safety, confidentiality, infection prevention, and blood and body fluid precautions.
  • Support patient and family education, discharge planning, and continuity of care.
  • Serve as a resource to colleagues and ancillary personnel while contributing to a positive, service-focused acute cardiac care environment.
