Cardiac Cath Lab RN Job Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for practice in Virginia
- At least 1 year of recent professional nursing experience, preferably in a Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory or cardiovascular procedural setting
- Demonstrated knowledge of diagnostic and interventional cardiovascular procedures
- Ability to safely prepare patients, procedural areas, and specialized cardiac catheterization equipment
- Strong patient assessment, communication, collaboration, and patient-safety skills
- Availability to work scheduled day shifts and participate in required after-hours, weekend, and holiday call coverage
Cardiac Cath Lab RN Responsibilities
- Provide skilled Registered Nurse care before, during, and after cardiac catheterization procedures
- Assess patients, verify procedure readiness, and identify changes in patient condition
- Prepare patients and equipment for diagnostic and interventional cardiovascular procedures
- Operate and assist with specialized imaging and procedural systems within the RN scope of practice
- Monitor patients throughout procedures and respond promptly to clinical changes
- Collaborate with physicians, procedural staff, and the broader healthcare team to promote safe, efficient cardiovascular care
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and uphold infection prevention and patient-safety standards
- Provide appropriate nursing support during after-hours, weekend, and holiday call assignments
