Cath Lab Registered Nurse Job Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Virginia or eligibility to practice in Virginia
• At least 1 year of professional nursing experience; Cath Lab, critical care, or procedural nursing experience strongly preferred
• Knowledge of cardiac catheterization procedures, sterile technique, and patient safety practices
• Ability to monitor patients throughout pre-procedure, intra-procedure, and post-procedure recovery phases of care
• Strong patient assessment, communication, clinical judgment, and teamwork skills
• Ability to work scheduled daytime shifts and participate in required call coverage

Cath Lab RN Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate nursing care to patients undergoing cardiac catheterization and related diagnostic or interventional procedures
• Complete patient assessments, review clinical histories, and prepare patients for cardiac procedures
• Monitor vital signs, cardiac rhythms, sedation levels, and patient responses throughout procedures
• Assist the cardiac catheterization team with equipment preparation, sterile technique, and clinical interventions
• Recognize and respond promptly to changes in patient condition or potential procedural complications
• Administer medications and treatments in accordance with orders and established protocols
• Provide post-procedure monitoring, patient education, and discharge support
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and communicate effectively with physicians and the interdisciplinary care team
• Participate in scheduled Cath Lab call coverage as assigned
