Job Details

• Position: Travel Cath Lab Registered Nurse
• Employment Type: Travel Nurse / Travel RN
• Setting: Acute care cardiac catheterization lab
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,820 - $2,970
• Schedule: Monday through Friday with rotating weekday, weekend, and holiday call coverage
• Shift Duration: 10-hour day shifts
• Hours: 36 guaranteed hours per week
• Unit Highlights: 5 cath lab suites with a wide variety of cardiovascular and interventional procedures
• Location: Rockford, Illinois

Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse license in Illinois, or the licensing process initiated
• Minimum 2 years of recent Cath Lab RN experience required
• STEMI experience required
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
• Experience in a high-acuity cardiovascular or interventional care environment preferred
• Comfortable caring for pre- and post-procedural patients in a fast-paced acute care setting
• Experience with Epic preferred
• Ability to participate in rotating weekday, weekend, and holiday call as needed
• Drug screen clearance required

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate nursing care for patients undergoing cardiac and vascular procedures
• Support cases including STEMI, PCI, diagnostic coronary angiography, structural heart procedures, electrophysiology studies, ablations, device implants, synchronized cardioversions, TEEs, stroke/thrombectomy, peripheral vascular interventions, biopsies, drain placements, and recovery care
• Monitor patients before, during, and after procedures while maintaining a strong focus on patient safety and clinical quality
• Collaborate closely with physicians, cath lab technologists, and the broader cardiovascular care team during procedures
• Assist with call coverage for weekday, weekend, and holiday needs based on department scheduling
• Float within the cath lab department as needed, including coronary, neuro IR, electrophysiology, interventional radiology, and prep/recovery areas
• Document accurately in the charting system and help maintain efficient patient flow throughout the unit
