Registered Nurse (RN) - Cath Lab

Job Description

This position entails providing nursing care for patients undergoing cardiac catheterization and angiographic procedures, encompassing both diagnostic and interventional testing.

Responsibilities

  • Patient Care: Performs nursing assessments and care for cardiovascular patients, including pre-medication, documentation of procedures, and post-procedure care. Evaluates patient safety and provides necessary education.
  • Technical Expertise: Operates various medical equipment including hemodynamic monitoring systems, pacemakers, intraaortic balloon pumps, defibrillators, and IV pumps, ensuring effective management of supplies and patient safety.
  • Procedure Assistance: Scrubs in for procedures, collaborating with physicians and assisting in interventional radiology processes.
  • Documentation: Records all pertinent information during procedures, and assists in the development and enhancement of cardiovascular education materials.

Qualifications

  • Prior experience in a Cath Lab setting.
  • Proficiency with Maclab hemodynamic monitoring.
  • Basic understanding of interventional radiology and vascular procedures.
  • Experience with Impella devices.
  • Knowledge of intraaortic balloon pump operation.
  • Familiarity with Epic EMR systems.
  • Active Michigan nursing license.
  • Current certifications in BLS and ACLS from the American Heart Association.

Work Schedule

This position typically operates on a schedule from 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM, with a 40-hour guarantee. Weekend requirements include 1-2 nights of call per week, with a total of 10 days of call per month.
