Job Details

• Position: Travel Registered Nurse – Cardiac Cath Lab
• Employment Type: Travel Nursing Assignment
• Location: Portsmouth, Virginia
• Start Date: 8/31/2026
• End Date: 11/30/2026
• Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift: Days, 5 x 8-hour shifts
• Call Requirement: At least 14 days of call per month, including weekends as needed
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,750 - $2,890
• Work Environment: Cardiac catheterization lab with diagnostic, interventional, vascular, EP, and hybrid procedures

Job Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice or compact state eligibility
• At least 2 years of recent Cath Lab RN experience required
• Experience in telemetry, critical care, emergency room, or operating room nursing is strongly valued
• BLS required
• ACLS preferred at hire and required within 6 months
• Ability to respond to STEMI call backs within 30 minutes
• Strong clinical judgment, communication, and teamwork skills
• Experience with electrophysiology (EP) cases is a plus

Responsibilities

• Provide coordinated, patient-centered nursing care in the cardiac cath lab
• Perform comprehensive assessments and develop, implement, and evaluate care plans
• Assist as scrub nurse and circulator for cardiac and vascular procedures
• Support diagnostic and interventional cases, including STEMI, TAVR, PFO closure, Watchman, balloon pump, Impella, IVUS, iFR/FFR, atherectomy, and stenting procedures
• Monitor patients closely during procedures and respond quickly to changing clinical conditions
• Administer medications safely and in accordance with policy and scope of practice
• Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary healthcare team to deliver safe, efficient care
• Participate in on-call coverage for urgent and emergency procedures
