Cath Lab Registered Nurse (RN)

Scheduling Details

• Shift Hours: 4x10s, 7:30 AM - 6:00 PM, plus call.
• Weekend Requirement: Refer to on-call requirements.
• On Call Requirement: Expected to take 7 on-call shifts and 5 late shifts within every 6-week period. One full weekend of call must be scheduled together, while weekday call shifts can be taken individually. One Saturday shift for elective cases is also required during each 6-week period. Must be able to return to the hospital within 30 minutes when called.
• Holiday Requirement: Must be available to work or take call on one holiday per 13-week contract, in rotation with staff.

Charting

• Charting experience with Epic is required.

• ACLS
• BLS

Required Clinical Skills

• Proficient in cardiac cath lab procedures including:
  • Left Heart Catheterization (LHC)
  • Right Heart Catheterization (RHC)
  • Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (PCI)
  • Percutaneous Transluminal Coronary Angioplasty (PTCA)
  • Stent Placement
  • Atherectomy
  • Temporary Pacemaker Insertion
  • Impella and Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump (IABP) management
  • TAVR
  • Watchman and Mitraclip procedures
• Experience in scrub roles.
• Skilled in sterile technique, EKG lead placement, dysrhythmia recognition and interpretation, hemodynamic monitoring, and rapid response protocols.
• Experienced in diagnostic/interventional cath lab settings using fluoroscopy.
• Knowledgeable in isolation precautions and equipment handling, as well as supply management.

Unit Information

• Serves adult patients with a daily census of 15–20 across 6 procedure rooms.
• Common diagnoses include coronary artery disease, valve disorders, heart failure, and atrial septal defect/patent foramen ovale closures.
• Advanced procedures include TAVR, left atrial appendage closures, Cardiomems, thrombectomy, mitral clips, and renal denervation.
• Utilizes state-of-the-art equipment such as IABP, Impella, Penumbra, Rotapro, CSI, Shockwave, laser, OCT, and IVUS.

Additional Requirements

• All requests for time off (RTO) must be submitted with the application.
• The facility may call off one shift per 2 weeks as needed.
• First-time travelers are not accepted. Local candidates are also not accepted due to radius rule criteria.
• Any active state nursing license (in hand or pending) is accepted.
