Schedule & Call
- Rotate between 7 a.m.–5:30 p.m. and 9:30 a.m.–8 p.m., with similar shifts grouped together for consistency.
- Must stay until procedures are complete.
- Call: One weekday each week and one weekend per month, Friday–Sunday. Requirements may change with staffing.
- Block scheduling considered with manager approval.
- Facility may cancel one shift per two weeks, including partial shifts totaling one shift.
Requirements
- 2 years of experience with both Cath Lab and EP experience required.
- Community hospital experience required.
- Current BLS and ACLS.
- Active South Carolina RN or compact license before start. Pending SC licenses considered at submission with proof of application.
- Agency-provided radiation badge required.
Unit Details
- 1:1 ratio | 5 procedure rooms | Approximately 20 cases daily.
- Adult and geriatric patients undergoing peripheral and coronary diagnostic/interventional procedures.
- Skills include cardiac catheterization, stent placement, circulating, procedural sedation, dysrhythmia management, and Impella insertion.
- Equipment includes Impella, balloon pump, AngioJet, and Shockwave.
- Epic charting.
- No floating between service lines or sister facilities.
- Hospital-issued scrubs and free parking.
Eligibility & Submission
- 60-mile local radius rule; locals considered case by case. Non-local candidates prioritized.
- Former MUSC staff, including PRN, must have one year of separation before returning as travelers.
- All RTO must be included at submission; additional RTO afterward is not accepted.
- Submit to one MUSC unit/campus at a time.
- Flu vaccination required unless an approved medical or religious exemption applies; COVID vaccination not required.
- Travelers may be assigned to emergency response teams during hurricane season, June–November.
