Job Summary (in list format) for Staff Registered Nurse (RN):

- Assumes responsibility for a group of patients for a designated time frame.
- Provides patient care using the nursing process, current nursing trends, and available technology.
- Utilizes financial and human resources in line with institutional philosophy.
- Performs duties and responsibilities specific to the unit’s scope of service.
- Implements procedures and theories relevant to the area of practice.
- Maintains accurate and up-to-date documentation of nursing care.
- Completes initial patient assessments and develops individualized care plans.
- Implements, evaluates, and modifies plans of care as needed.
- Ensures patient and employee safety by identifying and addressing hazards.
- Communicates effectively to resolve issues and promote teamwork.
- Provides constructive feedback for peer development and engages in knowledge sharing.
- Identifies own learning needs and seeks appropriate education.
- Meets departmental competency requirements.
- Receives and provides bedside shift reports, ensuring patient input and safety.
- Delegates and oversees completion of patient care tasks to healthcare team members.
- Completes and documents patient care activities (assessments, vital signs, care plans, patient education, etc.).
- Administers medications according to the “Five Rights” (right patient, medication, route, dose, time).
- Maintains patient safety through adherence to safety protocols (fall, pressure ulcer, isolation, ambulation).
- Promotes a positive and healthy work and patient environment.
- Responds promptly to patient call lights for effective triage and care.
- Uses critical thinking to monitor and respond to patient condition changes.
- Collaborates with the healthcare team for coordinated and safe patient care.
- Provides competent care to patients with mild to severe brain injuries (stroke, trauma, surgery).
- Recognizes and responds to neurological changes or seizure activity.

Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years relevant nursing experience.
- Associate’s Degree in Nursing (ASN).
- Active Illinois RN license in good standing.
- BLS certification (American Heart Association).

Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN).

- Department: Neuro (CFH - CT 9B)
- Shift: 3 x 12-hour day shifts
- Language: English (speak, read, write)

Med Ninjas Job ID #5081. Pay package is based on 12 hour shifts and 36 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
