Med Ninjas is seeking a travel nurse RN Cardiac Cath Lab for a travel nursing job in Glens Falls, New York.
Job Summary (List Format): Cardiac Catheterization Lab RN/Technologist – Glens Falls Hospital
- Patient Care:
- Provide care for both acute inpatient and elective outpatient populations in the Cardiac Catheterization Lab.
- Assess patient hemodynamics continuously and monitor patient responses during procedures.
- Perform, mix, and maintain IV/IC infusions and boluses.
- Administer conscious sedation and perform moderate sedation procedures.
- Assist physicians with cardiac diagnostic and interventional procedures, including STEMI cases.
- Recover patients to Phase I post-procedure.
- Technical Skills:
- Interpret EKG and hemodynamic pressure tracings.
- Operate and position patients according to specified Cath Lab protocols.
- Provide care with proficiency in cath and peripheral procedures.
- EP (Electrophysiology) experience highly preferred.
- Maintain readiness for 24/7 emergency procedures; participate in on-call rotation for off-hours, weekends, and holidays.
- Compliance and Documentation:
- Complete and maintain required documentation and compliance protocols for New York Temporary Health Care Service Agency License/Registration.
- Ensure all certifications and licensure (NY license, ACLS, BLS) are current and uploaded with application.
- Include permanent address on profile, matching Driver License/State ID.
- Provide a work history, skills checklist (updated within 1 year), and 1 supervisory reference (within past 2 years).
- Undergo 14-panel drug screening within 24 hours of offer acceptance.
- Onboarding and Training:
- Complete verbal de-escalation training through Welle or CPI prior to onboarding.
- Attend 8-hour non-billable orientation session.
- Other Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years CURRENT Cath Lab experience and cardiac diagnostic/interventional procedures.
- Must have own vehicle for transportation.
- Reliability and strong attendance required; no call-out or attendance concerns tolerated.
- COVID vaccination encouraged but not required.
- Personal scrubs of any color (no designs/cartoons/hoodies).
- No more than 5 days of requested time off (RTO) during the assignment; must be noted at upload.
- Location Restrictions:
- Applicants with permanent addresses in certain NY counties (Albany, Columbia, Dutchess, Fulton, Greene, Montgomery, Rensselaer, Saratoga, Schenectady, Ulster, Warren, Washington) will not be considered.
- Facility Information:
- Glens Falls Hospital is a 410-bed community hospital in the Adirondack region, offering a wide range of specialized medical services.
- Located between Saratoga Springs and Lake George with access to outdoor activities and cultural attractions.
Certifications Required:
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
Preferred/Highly Preferred:
- Moderate Sedation Certification
- Electrophysiology (EP) experience
- Epic EMR experience (facility is transitioning to Epic)
