We are seeking an experienced Behavioral Health Registered Nurse (RN) to join a healthcare facility in Scottsbluff, NE. In this role, you will provide compassionate, evidence-based care to patients experiencing acute psychiatric and behavioral health conditions across a dynamic inpatient setting. You will collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to deliver safe, patient-centered interventions that support recovery and overall mental wellness.
Key Responsibilities
• Conduct comprehensive psychiatric assessments and ongoing mental status evaluations for patients on the behavioral health unit
• Develop, implement, and revise individualized care plans in collaboration with psychiatrists, social workers, and other interdisciplinary team members
• Administer and monitor psychiatric medications, documenting responses and reporting adverse effects promptly
• Utilize de-escalation techniques and therapeutic communication strategies to manage agitated or at-risk patients safely
• Provide patient and family education on diagnoses, medications, coping strategies, and community resources
• Monitor patients for signs of self-harm, suicide risk, or elopement and implement appropriate safety interventions
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in accordance with regulatory and facility standards
✅ Requirements
• Active NE or Compact RN license
• BLS/BCLS certification
• 1+ years of Behavioral Health Registered Nurse (RN) experience
• Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) or equivalent de-escalation certification preferred
• Strong knowledge of psychiatric medications, mental health diagnoses, and evidence-based behavioral health practices
Pay
Pay range: $2,232 to $2,347 per week.
Travel Behavioral Health RN package: up to $2,347/week (36 hours) = $32/hour taxable + up to $1,195/week in travel reimbursements if eligible under IRS tax-home and expense rules.
Local package: $62/hour fully taxable ($2,232/week for 36 hours).
Overtime paid in accordance with applicable wage-and-hour laws and the assignment agreement. Actual compensation varies based on hours worked, assignment terms and travel reimbursement eligibility.
