Description

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: High Risk Antepartum Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: One year of experience in antepartum or Labor & Delivery, postpartum, and newborn care in a level 1 trauma setting. License: Current RN License issued by a state board of nursing, or a current multistate compact RN License. Certifications: Current Basic Life Support issued by the American Heart Association, ACLS, Intermediate Fetal Monitoring certificate, and Neonatal Resuscitation Program certification required upon hire. Must-Have: Good verbal and written communication skills, knowledge of professional nursing theory, practices, techniques, and procedures. Description: Assume responsibility for an assigned group of patients. Document patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments. Note all changes in physician orders for assigned patients. Assist physician in the examination of patients and in performing minor diagnostic procedures and treatment. Obtain and monitor physiological data of patients. Observe physiological manifestations of patients and intervene when necessary. Administer medication as prescribed. Initiate, regulate, and monitor intravenous infusions and blood products. Deliver patient care competently. Interact with family and patients in sharing care plans while in the facility and at the time of discharge. Inform patients and families of hospital procedures. Make referrals regarding patient care needs to appropriate personnel. Delegate tasks to support staff. Maintain good working relationships with other employees. Demonstrate ability to organize, plan, coordinate, and evaluate nursing services and apply nursing techniques. Some computer skills are required.
