Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Clinic, Ambulatory Care Duration: 19 weeks Shift: M-F Hours per Shift: 8a-5p Experience: Minimum 2 years of primary care experience License: Current full, unrestricted Registered Nursing license in Alaska or other U.S. state required Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification Must-Have: Active Alaska license Description: This position functions within the Outpatient Department to assist patients and medical staff within the ambulatory care setting. Responsibilities include ensuring the overall operation of the clinic. Maintains skill sets, annual competencies, certifications, and participates in in-services and educational programs. Completes all mandatory training and attends staff meetings. Adheres to infection control policy and procedures. Maintains a clean and safe working environment, including inventory management. Reports any defective or missing equipment and safety hazards. Addresses employee concerns consistent with Human Resources policy. Provides clinical services and collaborates with providers and clinic staff to ensure excellent quality of care. Provides leadership and direction to the clinic staff for efficient operation of all aspects of the clinic. Maintains medication inventory and supplies. Ensures necessary quality control checks are done with Point of Care tests. Documents all care and services provided in a timely manner. Assists providers and staff as needed, anticipating their needs for quality patient care. Communicates effectively with other departments to be a resource for patients and staff. Completes assessments and specimen collection as required. Demonstrates problem-solving and critical thinking skills to maintain good working relations with staff. Willingness to ask for assistance in new or challenging situations. Physical Demands: While performing the duties, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands, and reach with arms. The employee may occasionally be required to climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must be able to lift and/or move 50 lbs. Additional Information: This organization only accepts applications from travelers living at least 100+ miles from the facility. Position urgency is normal. Coverage for holidays is not required.
