Job Title: Level 1 RN Outpatient Cardiology & Interventional Radiology Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Acute Duration: Full Time Shift: Monday - Friday Hours per Shift: 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM Experience: Minimum 2 years of patient care experience with recent arrhythmia recognition and cardiology experience. License: Registered Nurse License Certifications: BLS, ACLS Must-Have: - Experience with moderate sedation - Competency in treadmill and nuclear stress testing Description: This position is for a Full-Time Level 1 RN in Outpatient Cardiology and Interventional Radiology. The role involves working Monday through Friday with no nights, weekends, or on-call shifts. Moderate sedation is a significant part of this role, and previous experience is required. The successful candidate will work primarily in a clinic setting. Typically, this role includes two days in Cardiology and three days in Interventional Radiology. The incumbent will perform treadmill, ETTs, and nuclear stress testing. They will conduct initial patient interviews and make preliminary assessments of test data. Additionally, the candidate will prepare studies for physician interpretation. Close collaboration with physicians, cardiac rehab staff, and the cardiology supervisor is essential to assure accurate and timely results. Monitoring patients before, during, and after procedures is a key responsibility. The RN will provide patient and family education as needed. Occasional assistance with monitoring special procedures will be required, such as stress-echo studies and tilt table studies. The RN must recognize emergency situations and respond according to established policies and protocols. Identifying and interpreting arrhythmias is also a vital part of this position. Performing conscious sedation when necessary is expected.
