Job Opportunity – Acute Care RN – Admissions Pending Unit – Kansas

Start Date: October 12, 2026 (firm start date)

Location: Topeka, Kansas

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: Days, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM, 36 hours per week, 26-week assignment. Holiday coverage required as needed. No call required.

Highlights:
  • Work in an award-winning Level II Trauma Center in a brand new Admissions Pending Unit designed for rapid patient throughput with ideal length of stay of 4 hours or less
  • Fast-paced acute care environment managing a wide variety of patient diagnoses with focus on initiating admission orders, completing admission navigators, and documenting initial assessments
  • Manage cardiac and anticoagulant drips including Cardizem and Heparin in a high-volume, dynamic setting
  • EMR system: Epic
  • 26-week contract assignment with potential to float to other units as needed
  • Overtime billable after 48 hours
Requirements:
  • Active Kansas state RN license or multistate compact license required (no pending licenses accepted)
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications via American Heart Association required at time of submission
  • Prior travel nursing experience required (no first-time travelers)
  • Clean, unencumbered license with no disciplinary actions
  • Experience in acute care settings with strong time management and clinical judgment skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal oversight in a fast-paced environment
  • All required licensure and certifications must be current and valid at time of application
