Emergency Department Registered Nurse (ED RN) – Part-Time Travel Nursing Contract in Geneva, NY

Part-time travel nursing opportunity for an experienced Emergency Department RN in Geneva, New York. Join a collaborative acute care team and provide compassionate, high-quality emergency care to patients and families across a broad range of urgent and emergent conditions. Located in the scenic Finger Lakes region, Geneva offers a welcoming community, beautiful waterfront surroundings, and convenient access to outdoor recreation, local dining, and cultural attractions.

Emergency Department Travel RN Job Details

  • Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,110–$2,220
  • Location: Geneva, New York
  • Healthcare Setting: Acute care hospital Emergency Department
  • Schedule: Part-time, two 12-hour shifts per week
  • Shift: 12-hour rotating day and night shifts
  • Weekend and Holiday Coverage: Every other weekend and holidays as needed
  • Start Date: October 19, 2026
  • Contract Duration: Approximately 18 weeks, through February 20, 2027
  • On-Call: No routine on-call requirement

Emergency Department Registered Nurse Requirements

  • Active New York Registered Nurse (RN) license
  • At least 2 years of acute care hospital nursing experience, including at least 1 year of Emergency Department experience
  • Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications
  • Current NIHSS or stroke certification
  • Certifications must be issued through the American Heart Association or RQI, as applicable
  • Strong patient assessment, prioritization, communication, and critical-thinking skills
  • Ability to provide emergency nursing care to patients across all age groups and acuity levels

Emergency Department RN Responsibilities

  • Perform patient triage and identify the urgency and priority of care using established emergency severity standards.
  • Conduct timely primary and secondary nursing assessments for patients with emergent, urgent, and routine conditions.
  • Recognize changes in patient condition, initiate appropriate interventions, and promptly communicate concerns to the emergency care team.
  • Deliver direct nursing care, including invasive and non-invasive procedures, treatments, monitoring, and therapeutic interventions within scope of practice.
  • Reassess patients to evaluate responses to treatment and modify the plan of care appropriately.
  • Prepare patients and families for diagnostic procedures and treatments while providing clear updates throughout the Emergency Department visit.
  • Provide discharge education, assess patient and caregiver understanding, and make appropriate referrals for follow-up or post-emergency care.
  • Promote patient comfort, safety, dignity, and emotional well-being through compassionate, relationship-based care.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, EMS personnel, and other interdisciplinary team members to support positive patient outcomes.
  • Delegate tasks appropriately, educate patients and caregivers, and follow infection prevention and healthcare safety practices.
