Job Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 year of recent acute care, med-surg, or medical-surgical nursing experience
  • Active Registered Nurse license
  • Current BLS certification
  • Experience using the Epic electronic health record (EHR) system preferred
  • Comfort caring for patients with complex medical, behavioral, and long length-of-stay needs
  • Ability to float to similar medical-surgical units as needed
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and adaptability in a fast-paced healthcare environment

Responsibilities

  • Provide safe, compassionate patient care to adult and geriatric patients in an acute care setting
  • Manage a mix of long length-of-stay and medical observation patients
  • Perform thorough assessments, administer medications, and monitor patient status throughout the shift
  • Support patients with mobility, wound care, oxygen needs, feeding assistance, and other nursing interventions within scope
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to promote patient progress and safe discharge planning
  • Document accurately in Epic and communicate effectively with the care team
  • Adapt to changing patient needs while maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and patient-centered care
