Job Summary
This role is for an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) Supervisor to provide leadership and oversight for nursing operations during the night shift at a healthcare facility located in Penn Yan, New York. The Supervisor will be responsible for ensuring high-quality patient care delivery, managing nursing staff, and maintaining efficient unit operations. This position requires a proactive leader capable of critical decision-making and effective communication within a dynamic clinical environment.
As an RN Supervisor, you will play a pivotal role in supporting patient safety and staff performance. You will serve as a resource for clinical staff, address patient and family concerns, and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes. Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and direct nursing staff during the assigned shift, ensuring appropriate staffing levels and resource allocation.
- Provide clinical guidance and support to nursing personnel, fostering a collaborative and high-performance environment.
- Monitor patient care delivery to ensure adherence to established policies, procedures, and quality standards.
- Respond to and manage emergency situations, coordinating with medical staff and other departments as needed.
- Address patient and family concerns, facilitating effective communication and resolution.
- Participate in problem-solving and decision-making related to patient care, staff issues, and operational challenges.
- Ensure accurate and timely documentation of patient care and administrative activities.
- Collaborate with other supervisors and department heads to promote seamless transitions of care and operational efficiency.
Required Qualifications
- Active and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of New York.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Registered Nurse in an acute care setting.
- Prior experience in a charge nurse or supervisory role.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
