Job Summary
This is a contract opportunity for a dedicated Registered Nurse to provide high-quality patient care in an acute care setting. The role involves managing a diverse patient population, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams, and ensuring adherence to established care protocols. This position is located in Rochester, New York.
As a contract RN, you will be responsible for comprehensive patient assessment, developing and implementing individualized care plans, and evaluating patient outcomes. You will utilize your clinical expertise to administer medications, perform treatments, and educate patients and their families, contributing to a positive and safe patient experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and re-assessments.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
- Monitor and document patient vital signs, symptoms, and responses to interventions.
- Collaborate effectively with physicians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals.
- Educate patients and their families on health conditions, medications, and self-care techniques.
- Maintain accurate and timely electronic health records.
- Adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.
- Respond to medical emergencies and provide immediate care as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
- Minimum of 1-2 years of recent experience as a Registered Nurse in an acute care setting.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
- Previous travel nursing experience.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
Skills & Competencies
- Proficiency in patient assessment and care planning.
- Skilled in medication administration and IV therapy.
- Competency in wound care and sterile techniques.
- Ability to operate standard medical equipment (e.g., IV pumps, vital sign monitors, EKG machines).
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Proficiency with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems.
