Registered Nurse - Radiology Special Procedures
Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Registered Nurse for a 13-week travel assignment in Radiology Special Procedures at a leading healthcare facility in Canton, Georgia. This role is critical in providing specialized nursing care to patients undergoing various diagnostic and interventional radiology procedures.
The successful candidate will primarily focus on patient assessment, preparation, and the administration and monitoring of IV sedation, ensuring patient safety and comfort throughout their procedure. This position requires a nurse with strong critical care foundations and the ability to adapt to a dynamic procedural environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in the Radiology Special Procedures unit.
- Administer and meticulously monitor IV sedation, ensuring patient safety and comfort during procedures.
- Perform pre-procedure patient assessments, including medical history review and vital sign monitoring.
- Monitor patients post-procedure, managing recovery and potential complications.
- Collaborate effectively with radiologists, technologists, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes.
- Maintain accurate and thorough patient documentation.
- Adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of two (2) years of recent experience as a Registered Nurse in Radiology, Intensive Care Unit (ICU), Emergency Room (ER), or Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU).
- Must be a travel candidate; local candidates residing within 50 miles of Canton, Georgia will not be considered.
Preferred Qualifications
- Direct experience as a Radiology Registered Nurse.
Skills & Competencies
- Proficiency in IV sedation administration, monitoring, and emergency management.
- Strong critical thinking and rapid assessment skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced procedural environment.

Shift Details

- Hours: 8-hour shifts, Monday through Friday, typically scheduled within the department's operational hours of 7:00 AM - 5:30 PM.

- Holiday Requirements: Must work two (2) major holidays (Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, New Year's Day) and one (1) minor holiday (The Friday after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, New Year's Eve).

Licensing Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Georgia or a compact state license.
