Job Summary

This is a 13-week travel contract opportunity for a dedicated Registered Nurse in Rochester, New York. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive, patient-centered nursing care within an acute care setting. This role involves collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans, ensuring optimal patient outcomes and adherence to professional nursing standards.

The Registered Nurse will be responsible for managing a diverse patient population, administering medications, performing clinical procedures, and educating patients and families. Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including physical, psychosocial, and spiritual needs.
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, ensuring accuracy and adherence to safety protocols.
  • Monitor patient vital signs, interpret diagnostic data, and recognize changes in patient conditions, intervening appropriately.
  • Document all patient care activities, observations, and interventions accurately and timely in the electronic medical record.
  • Educate patients and their families on health conditions, treatment plans, and self-care techniques.
  • Collaborate effectively with physicians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated patient care.
  • Respond to medical emergencies and initiate appropriate interventions.
  • Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for patients and staff.
Required Qualifications
  • Current and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of New York.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of recent acute care nursing experience.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
