Job Summary
This is a 13-week travel contract opportunity for a dedicated Registered Nurse in Rochester, New York. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive, patient-centered nursing care within an acute care setting. This role involves collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans, ensuring optimal patient outcomes and adherence to professional nursing standards.
The Registered Nurse will be responsible for managing a diverse patient population, administering medications, performing clinical procedures, and educating patients and families. This position requires strong clinical judgment, critical thinking skills, and the ability to adapt to a dynamic healthcare environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including physical, psychosocial, and spiritual needs.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, ensuring accuracy and adherence to safety protocols.
- Monitor patient vital signs, interpret diagnostic data, and recognize changes in patient conditions, intervening appropriately.
- Document all patient care activities, observations, and interventions accurately and timely in the electronic medical record.
- Educate patients and their families on health conditions, treatment plans, and self-care techniques.
- Collaborate effectively with physicians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated patient care.
- Respond to medical emergencies and initiate appropriate interventions.
- Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for patients and staff.
Required Qualifications
- Current and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of New York.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of recent acute care nursing experience.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
