Oncology Registered Nurse
Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Oncology Registered Nurse for a 13-week contract assignment at Georgia Cancer Specialist Johns Creek Infusion in Johns Creek, Georgia. This role is ideal for a travel nurse looking to provide specialized nursing care to oncology patients in an outpatient infusion setting.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the administration of chemotherapy and other infusion therapies, patient monitoring, and comprehensive patient education. This position requires a compassionate professional who can work collaboratively within a supportive healthcare team, ensuring high-quality patient care and adherence to established protocols.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and other infusion therapies safely and accurately according to physician orders and established protocols.
- Assess, monitor, and document patient responses to treatment, managing potential side effects and adverse reactions.
- Provide comprehensive patient and family education regarding treatment plans, potential side effects, and self-care strategies.
- Maintain vascular access devices, including PICC lines and implanted ports.
- Collaborate effectively with physicians, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated patient care.
- Ensure accurate and timely documentation of all patient care activities.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of two (2) years of recent experience in an Oncology or Infusion setting.

- Chemotherapy/Biotherapy Certification (e.g., ONS Chemotherapy/Biotherapy Provider Card).
Skills & Competencies
- Proficiency in chemotherapy administration and management of related side effects.
- Expertise in IV insertion, venipuncture, and central line care (PICC, Port-a-Cath).
- Strong patient assessment and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and patient education abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Compassion and empathy for oncology patients and their families.
Shift Details
- Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM
- Shift Duration: 8-hour shifts
- Days per Week: 5
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Assignment Dates: October 26, 2026 - January 23, 2027

- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
