Registered Nurse - Acute Cardiology (Med-Surg)

Job Summary

Join our dedicated nursing team in Atlanta, Georgia, on a specialized Acute Cardiology Unit (606A). This role is ideal for an experienced Registered Nurse seeking to provide high-quality care to patients with diverse cardiac conditions, including those post-procedure or requiring intensive monitoring.

As a key member of our healthcare team, you will utilize your expertise in a dynamic acute care setting. You will be responsible for comprehensive patient assessment, medication administration, continuous monitoring, and collaborative care planning during 12-hour night shifts.

This is a 13-week contract opportunity, offering a challenging yet rewarding environment for nurses committed to excellence in cardiac care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient outcomes.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians, ensuring patient safety and adherence to protocols.
  • Monitor and interpret patient vital signs, cardiac rhythms, and other physiological data, reporting changes promptly.
  • Collaborate effectively with physicians, advanced practice providers, and other healthcare team members to optimize patient care plans.
  • Educate patients and their families on disease processes, medications, and discharge planning to promote continuity of care.
  • Maintain accurate and thorough patient records in compliance with hospital and regulatory standards.
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum of 2 years of recent, acute care experience within an Acute Cardiology or Medical-Surgical setting.

  • Proficiency in cardiac monitoring and interpretation, including EKG.
  • Competence in medication administration, including IV drips and titratable medications.

  • Ability to manage multiple patients and prioritize tasks efficiently in a fast-paced acute care environment.
  • Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
