Prime Time Healthcare Nursing is seeking a travel nurse RN Wound Care for a travel nursing job in Rapid City, South Dakota.

Wound Care RN – South Dakota

Interview: Manager interview required
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
No nights, weekends or major holidays
Setting: Inpatient and outpatient wound care
Ratio: Approximately one patient per hour, depending on complexity
EMR: Epic
Scrubs: Navy blue
Parking: Free

Required Qualifications

• Graduate of a board-approved nursing program
• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience
• BLS
• Wound-care certification
• Strong general wound-care background
• First-time travelers considered with prior wound-care experience

Certifications from ABWM, NAWCO and WOCNCB are approved. Other certifying organizations may be considered with management approval.

Required Skills

• Wound VAC management
• Nurse-level debridement
• Ankle-brachial index testing
• Cast cutting
• Care of diabetic foot wounds
• Vascular wound management
• Pressure-injury prevention and treatment

Ostomy-Certified Position

Candidates submitted for the ostomy-certified role must also hold a current CWOCN or equivalent approved ostomy certification.

Department Details

The RN may provide care across:

• Inpatient wound care
• Outpatient wound care
• Ostomy services
• Hyperbaric oxygen therapy, based on experience and manager approval

Outpatient support includes two CNPs, RNs, one CNA and a front-desk scheduler. Inpatient wound care is staffed by RNs. The RN may float between inpatient and outpatient settings.

Orientation and Culture

• One to two weeks of unit orientation
• Tight-knit department with a family-like environment
• Significant autonomy and independent practice
• Epic experience is preferred; candidates without Epic may be considered with prior approval
