Job Details

Location: College Station, Texas
Start Date: October 19–28, 2026 (EPIC conversion start dates)
Duration: 6 weeks
Shift: Nights
Shift Length: 12 hours
Hours: 48 hours scheduled per week; 36-hour option may be considered
Schedule: Matrix scheduling; multiple start times available
Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
Holiday Requirement: Rotating with permanent staff

Requirements

Minimum 2 years of ER nursing experience
Active RN license
AHA BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, and NIHSS
Must have EPIC experience
Must pass the Advanced Dysrhythmia exam with a score of at least 83% (up to 3 attempts)

Unit Details

Level III STEMI and Stroke Receiving Center
18 beds, including 4 critical-care rooms
Approximately 70 patients per day
Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:3–4, depending on acuity
Patient population includes pediatrics, cardiac emergencies, STEMIs, strokes, trauma, and general ER cases
Nurses must interpret cardiac rhythms independently
MEDITECH is the current charting system; this assignment is for an EPIC conversion

First-time travelers may be considered
Travelers are first to float if needed
No call or standby requirement
Navy scrubs required
Copy of government-issued ID required at submission; candidate name must match the ID exactly, without a middle name or middle initial
Candidates must not have been directly employed full-time, part-time, or PRN by a CommonSpirit-affiliated facility, including CHI or Dignity, within the past year. PRN employment through outside firms may be considered.
